When’s the best time for your child’s first dental visit? Shortly after the baby teeth come through, or roughly at 12months of age. At this stage your child’s dental and oral health are evaluated and proper oral hygiene and diet instructions introduced.

Setting the foundations for a positive dental experience is crucial for a child’s oral health. When a child’s first visit is for pain relief, this sets a negative undertone for life, leading to problems such as anxiety, dental phobias and dental neglect.
